EU puts a three-year seal on sanctions against Russia

Permanent representatives of European Union (EU) member states have decided to extend sanctions against Russian and Belarusian individuals and legal entities for three years.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Czech media and diplomatic sources, that the decision was made to extend the sanctions.

While the restrictions had previously been extended every six months, this time they were extended for a single three-year period. The agreement was reached as a compromise among EU member states.

Czech Television notes that Russian businessmen Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman have been removed from the sanctions list.
