China seeks to help EU escape the trap it dug for itself: “Let’s not wage a trade war”
China and the European Union (EU), as strategic partners, should not launch a trade war against each other.
TodayPress TV reports that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said this.
According to him, Beijing supports closer engagement with Brussels to resolve issues of mutual concern through dialogue and consultations:
“We hope that Germany will maintain a rational and pragmatic approach, play an active role in the European Union, and help the EU adhere to the principles of free trade, reject protectionism, and follow the right path of open cooperation, dialogue and consultations.”
