"Qarabağ" defender undergoes surgery

Azerbaijan national team and "Qarabağ" footballer Elvin Jafarquliyev has undergone surgery.

TodayPress TV reports that the Ağdam-based club’s press service announced this.

It said the defender’s surgery was successfully completed after he sustained an injury in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round against Dynamo Kyiv of Ukraine.

The player, who was injured in the match on August 13, was diagnosed with an injury to the distal tendon of the semitendinosus muscle, part of the hamstring group in his left thigh.

Elvin Jafarquliyev’s treatment and rehabilitation will continue under the supervision of "Qarabağ"’s medical staff.
