Pashinyan caught between two fires – Iran warns over US troops
Iran has set a condition for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding ensuring the security of the TRIPP project.
TodayPress TV reports, citing Armenian media, that Tehran demands that the security of the project on Armenian territory be ensured exclusively by the Armenian Armed Forces or the armed forces of a third country currently stationed in the country.
According to the report, Iran is seeking to prevent the deployment of US troops in an area close to its borders.
The Iranian authorities believe that if US forces are stationed in Armenia, they could be considered a potential military target by Tehran amid the ongoing tensions between Iran and the US.
