AfD wins 43.8% of the vote, Musk congratulates Weidel in German

American billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk has congratulated Alice Weidel, co-leader of Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, on the results achieved in the election held in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt.

TodayPress TV reports that Musk commented in German on Weidel’s post on the social media platform X.

“Gut gemacht!” (“Great job!”), Musk wrote.

It should be noted that Alternative for Germany (AfD) won the election to the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt by a wide margin. The party received 43.8% of the vote, while the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), which leads the state government, received 17.2%.

Thus, the AfD’s result was more than twice that of the CDU. This is the highest result the party has ever achieved in a state election.
