US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff has announced significant progress in the dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv.

TodayPress TV reports that, according to Witkoff, US representatives travelled to Russia and Ukraine at the direction of President Donald Trump to help continue dialogue between the sides aimed at ending the war.

Ahead of the visit, Russia and Ukraine agreed to a three-day ceasefire to create conditions for negotiations.

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, as well as representatives of the National Security Council, the State Department and the Treasury Department, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During the meetings, proposals put forward by the two sides were discussed.

The meetings in Kyiv were also attended by national security advisers from the UK, Germany and France. The aim was to determine the next roadmap for continuing the negotiations.

Witkoff said significant progress had been made in determining the next steps during the talks, including the organisation of additional trilateral meetings.

“President Trump is making tremendous efforts to prevent people from being killed and to achieve long-term, lasting peace,” the special envoy said.
