“No need to worry!” — Arteta reassures Arsenal fans

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has reached a verbal agreement with the club over an extension to his contract.

TodayPress TV  reports, citing The Irish Times, that the Spanish coach’s new deal is expected to include a significant increase in salary.

Arteta’s current contract runs until the end of the 2026/27 season.

“I think we are very close to each other on everything. When the right time comes, we will formalize everything. There is no reason to worry. I believe we have the same ambitions and the same desire,” Arteta said.

According to the source, the 44-year-old coach intends to sign a new contract for at least another three years. Although negotiations began in May, they were temporarily suspended during the summer transfer window.

It should be noted that Arteta has been in charge of Arsenal since December 2019. Last season, he led the London club to its first Premier League title since 2004 and also guided the team to the Champions League final, where Arsenal lost to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties. His current annual salary is estimated at around £10 million.
