“I don’t want to be anyone else, I want to be Lamine Yamal” — Barcelona star sets ambitious goal

Barcelona and Spain winger Lamine Yamal has spoken about his ambition to establish himself alongside legendary footballers.

TodayPress TV reports that, in an interview with L’Équipe, he spoke about his desire to leave his mark on football history and his goals for the future.

“I always say that you should aim as high as possible. If I were a waiter, I would dream of becoming a restaurant owner.

“I play to leave my mark on history. I want young people 30 years from now to say: ‘He was great too.’

“But this is not an obsession. I never think, ‘I want to be better than Pelé or Messi.’ I do not want to compare myself with anyone. I want to be Lamine Yamal and be remembered as Lamine Yamal. I hope I will have a place among the greats. I think I have the ability and the resources to achieve that; everything depends on me,” Yamal said.
