Maresca unfazed by financial scandal: ‘I have full faith in the club’

Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca has answered a question about whether he would still agree to take charge of the club following a decision by an independent commission in late September that found the Citizens guilty of breaching financial regulations.

TodayPress TV reports, citing journalist Ben Jacobs, that the coach expressed his confidence in Manchester City:

“I would 100% agree. I have known this organisation for a long time. I know how seriously they approach their work and that they take the right steps. I would like to talk about this after they win the appeal.”

Maresca said he had not discussed the matter with the club’s management during the recruitment process.

“Honestly, no. I think they are confident they will win the appeal. I have complete faith in the club because I know the people who work there. I assure you that I am focused solely on football. I don’t think about anything else — primarily because I don’t understand many of these matters. I focus only on what I can control, which is the football side of things.”
