Federation loses patience: Italian coach set to be sacked

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has decided to terminate the contract of national team head coach Vincenzo Montella.

TodayPress TV reports, citing local media, that the decision was prompted by the national team’s disappointing performances in the World Cup and UEFA Nations League.

The fact that the Turkish national team became the underdog of its group in the continental tournament also influenced the federation’s decision.

According to reports, the TFF plans to part ways with the Italian coach by paying him five months’ salary as compensation.

It should be noted that in 40 official matches under Vincenzo Montella, the Turkish national team has recorded 21 wins, five draws and 14 defeats.
