Trump quotes Ilham Aliyev in New York - VİDEO

US President Donald Trump has said that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the role of his US counterpart in resolving the conflict between Yerevan and Baku.

TodayPress TV reports that Trump made the remarks during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Trump noted that since taking office, he had helped resolve eight conflicts and, as a result, established friendly relations with many of the leaders of those countries.

According to him, most of these conflicts had continued for years or even decades. Trump said that, depending on the country concerned, he had used personal relationships with leaders, trade, tariffs or threats to impose them, as well as other tools, to achieve settlements.

Among these conflicts, he cited the confrontations between Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, Pakistan and India, as well as Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“The President of Azerbaijan said that it took President Trump six months to perform a miracle. It was a real miracle that nobody thought was possible,” Trump said.
