Netanyahu makes secret visit to this country

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a secret visit to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, on September 27.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Israel’s N12 television channel, that Netanyahu traveled to Abu Dhabi on a private plane and met with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Israeli prime minister stayed in the country for approximately four hours before returning to Israel that evening.

N12 reported that the meeting was held mainly behind closed doors and in a one-on-one format. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office did not provide details about the visit or the talks.

At the time of the visit, contacts between Israel and the UAE on regional security issues were continuing. Against this backdrop, Netanyahu’s phone call with Mohamed bin Zayed before October 7, 2023, has also resurfaced.

According to an investigation previously published by Haaretz, during that phone call, Bin Zayed warned Netanyahu that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was preparing for a large-scale attack in Gaza.
