Hungarian parliament lifts prime minister’s immunity
The parliamentary immunity of Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar has been lifted.
TodayPress TV reports, citing local media, that the Hungarian parliament held a vote on the matter.
In addition to Magyar, the immunity of two other lawmakers was also lifted.
The decision is related to allegations that Magyar took a man’s mobile phone at a Budapest nightclub in 2024 and later threw it into the Danube River. The incident is the subject of a criminal investigation.
