Jeyhun Bayramov and Rubio discuss key issues

A telephone conversation has been held between Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told TodayPress TV that the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Azerbaijan-US strategic bilateral partnership, as well as issues related to the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.

The sides noted significant progress achieved in bilateral relations toward developing a strategic partnership following the historic summit held in Washington on August 8, 2025.

In this context, they emphasized the importance of the activities of working groups on priority areas identified in the Strategic Partnership Charter between Azerbaijan and the United States in terms of further deepening bilateral cooperation.

During the phone conversation, the sides also highlighted important results achieved in 2026 within the framework of the Azerbaijan-US strategic partnership. It was noted that documents signed in the fields of energy, hydrocarbon exploration, development and production, investment, digital technologies, trade and other areas as part of Baku Energy Week and the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum had significantly expanded the practical substance of bilateral cooperation.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his counterpart on Azerbaijan’s consistent steps aimed at advancing its peace agenda, building confidence and strengthening regional stability.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
