Tajikistan turns to Iran amid fuel shortages in Russia

Tajikistan wants to buy 2.5 million metric tons of oil and petroleum products from Iran as fuel shortages have emerged in Russia, its traditional supplier.

According to a statement by Tajikistan’s Ministry of Transport, Dushanbe has requested a total of 2.55 million tons of fuel from Tehran. The requested volume includes 2 million tons of crude oil, 150,000 tons of gasoline, 300,000 tons of diesel fuel and 100,000 tons of jet fuel.
