Two Latvian nationals detained after illegally entering military base
Two Latvian nationals living in the United Kingdom have been detained for illegally entering the Royal Air Force Molesworth base in Cambridgeshire, England.
TodayPress TV reports that this was stated in a statement by Scotland Yard.
According to the statement, the detainees entered the military facility during the night leading into October 8 after cutting a hole in the fence. They attracted the attention of military police after leaving a vehicle near the base.
Scotland Yard said one of the detainees is 36 years old and the other is 32. They were initially detained on suspicion of illegally entering a prohibited area and causing criminal damage. They are now also suspected of violating national security legislation.
Both individuals are being held at a police station in Cambridgeshire.
