Unexpected last-minute change in Darwin Núñez transfer

Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal have changed their decision regarding striker Darwin Núñez.

TodayPress TV reports that football insider Sasha Tavolieri shared the information on social media platform “X”.

The Uruguayan footballer was expected to travel to Türkiye in the coming days to finalize his loan move to Trabzonspor. However, Saudi Pro League newcomers Al Diriyah have overtaken Trabzonspor by opening negotiations over Núñez’s transfer.

According to the report, Al Diriyah have approached Al Hilal with a proposal to sign the 29-year-old striker on a one-season loan. The club are ready to cover 75 percent of the player’s salary.

It is reported that Al Hilal have agreed to Núñez joining Al Diriyah and have halted negotiations with Trabzonspor.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool striker Núñez has also attracted interest from Beşiktaş. However, the Istanbul-based club have been unable to reach an agreement with the player over the terms of a personal contract.
