Iran exempts Iraq from restrictions on maritime shipping through Strait of Hormuz
Iran has exempted Iraq from restrictions on maritime shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, TodayPress TV reports citing IRNA.
Obtaining special permission for Iraqi tankers was one of Baghdad’s main demands during Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf’s visit to Iraq.
It should be noted that the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. In June, the parties signed an interim agreement that was supposed to lay the groundwork for ending the conflict and restoring shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. However, subsequent agreements were violated.
