Could Simonyan visit Azerbaijan?
Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan has not ruled out the possibility of visiting Baku following his September 1 meeting in Bishkek with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, TodayPress TV reports, citing Armenian media.
He noted that the main topic of the meeting with Hajiyev was deepening the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“I can say with satisfaction that the Azerbaijani side is taking and will continue to take all steps aimed at establishing peace,” he said.
According to Simonyan, the sides agreed to introduce new mechanisms to resolve outstanding issues.
Asked about a possible visit to Baku, the Secretary of the Armenian Security Council said: “I do not rule out such a visit, but I cannot give a specific date.”
Simonyan also said that a meeting of this kind had been planned when Armen Grigoryan was still serving as Secretary of the Armenian Security Council.
